The beauty and tranquility of sleep. Where does the mind travel to when we dream? That place of comfort that we long for measured by the tick of a watch.

Inspired by mother earth, this figure of a young girl pondering over the Earth portrays our struggle to care for our planet whilst chained to the conveniences, life styles and habits which progressively suffocate the world.

A large lino-cut of a mother and child wading in Lac Leman (Geneva). Children play a strong role in the presence of Philippa’s landscapes.  They are the inheritors of the sunsets we drink up.  They will become the caretakers of the places dear to our hearts.  Thus, interwoven into the work is the importance of conservation and respect for the environment.  Echoing the adage that has often been painted onto welcome signs “leave nothing but your footprints”.

Many of the artists’ works set out to capture the feelings of being divided by oceans and continents. As we move between their rhythms of sunsets and sunrises, whilst children grow older.

This large scale piece represents a fantasy map of a planet similar to our Earth. The colors chime with the property owners interior and creates a dramatic statement in the entrance way.

The anchor piece for Tableaux Arts 2018 exhibition Farewell. The piece was inspired by the nomadic lifestyles of our world today. Is it within our nature to be forever seeking new horizons, on a quest for adventure despite those we leave behind? By uprooting ourselves from the familiar we are given the great privilege of experiencing different cultures and seeing incredible places.  Yet by leaving a temporary footprint do we simply carry less weight than the “unbearable lightness” of a butterfly flitting through the lives of others?  How would the same life evolve if we chose to stay and to sink deep and heavy roots to a place called home?

Tides mark the rhythm of the world - driven by the moon, constant and calm. The ocean both divides us and brings us together. It nourishes destroys and connects us. It reflects the lives of the people living within its islands

This piece was a private commission for a pregnant lady. The image depicts 3 hands. The nurturing hands of the mother which overlap the protective hand of the father anticipating the tiny movements from within. The piece encapsulates a precious time when mother and father await the arrival of their child
